In april of this year the master drummer and percussionist from Panama, Billy Cobham performed three times “Drums And Percussion Evening”. He performed together with percussionist Nippy Noya and drummer percussionist René Engele. The big audience in the Gaste Garage in Osnabruck, the Bimhuis in Amsterdam and the Boerderij in Zoetermeer, did get an evening of interaction and improvisation.

As an outcome due to this great succes of those three concerts they will join stage together again.

Billy Cobham together with John McLaughlin is the founder of the Mahavishnu Orchestra. Hij played in his career for instance with Miles Davis, Horace Silver, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock and Count Basie.

At this moment he has a project called Palindrome. With this group he plays jazzrock/fusion with influences from all over the World.

Nippy Noya is one one the big forces behind Massada. Hij has played with John McLaughlin, Jan Akkerman, Stan Getz, Dick Morrissey, Eric Burdon and Earth & Fire,

Since 1992 Nippy is a teaching professor of the conservatory in Enschede. He is working on a lot of projects, as there is, the band The Globetrotters, een group only consisting of musicians from Poland.

René Engel is founder of the René Engel Group. With this Group he already made several cd’s. Hij has played with Herman Brood, Mike Stern, Danny Gottlieb, Hans Dulfer and The Buffoons. René is a teacher at the conservatory of Enschede.
