Jeroen Vrolijk New Morning Trio
New Morning sounds like an unstoppable freight train full steam ahead. The compositions of drummer/composer Jeroen Vrolijk are itsy, dark but leave enough space for full eruptions. Melodic guitarsounds, pumping bass and tight drums, straigth from the trendy clubs in New York. His music is at the vanguard of contemporary fusion it wants to lose itself from it’s boring ancestors from the ‘80’s and ‘90’s.
The summer of 2007 brought New Morning. About a year and a half later the band speaks for itself making touring The Netherlands and Belgium. Playing at the Dutch Bimhuis and @ The Hague Jazz Festival. Perfect timing when in winter 2008 New Morning releases it’s first album ‘New Morning, a NY project’ sold on the famous American Fusion Label Abstract Logix where it became CD of the month in November 2009.
Last year 2010 New Morning has been working on new material and recorded the second album ‘New Morning II, the Optimist’. The group will release the new album in 2011 together with Abstract Logix. The CD will then be available worldwide.
