Biography
In 2013 flautist Daniel Manrique-Smith, bassist Ben Tai Trawinski, guitarist Johann May and drummer Nico Stallmann started up Jin Jim.
In their first year they were voted through the public into the finals of the JazzTube Festival in Bonn. A year later they won the Future Sounds competition at the Leverkusener Jazztage.
In 2016 Jin Jim had their first major tour. They played in Peru and five countries in Africa. In 2017 they played the main stage of the Baltica Festival.
Attender of the Festival Siggi Loch of ACT Records signed Jin Jim for the label. They recorded Weisse Schatten in 2018. Jin Jim showed once again how refined and individual their sound is. It is indeed rare for a young band to emerge wich is quite so unified.
