Male Vocalist, Voice Artist, Actor
Wayne Devlin was born in the Trafford area of Manchester, England. His late father was Patrick Joseph Devlin who was born and raised in Newry, Northern Ireland. Patrick Devlin taught Wayne to sing from an early age, but Wayne also wanted to pursue an acting career. Wayne studied method acting in Manchester, London and then New York. He funded his travelling by working on building sites in Manchester and made an income singing in various bars and pubs around Europe whilst on his travels. When Wayne was in New York, he was spotted singing in a bar and invited to Las Vegas where he performed his ‘Rat Pack’ style swing repertoire at the Golden Nugget Casino and the Flamingo Casino.
Some time after Wayne’s return from Las Vegas, he met and married his wife, Val and continued his singing career by securing a residency slot at the Trafford Centre in Manchester. With the help and support of his wife, he also started staging some of his own Rat Pack shows in his local area, raising money for various local charities in the process. Wayne is NOT a Sinatra impersonator or a tribute act, and in fact sings songs from the Rat Pack/Swing genre by many artists in his own unique style. He also sings at various private bookings and at large charity and corporate events, the most recent ones being a large charity event hosted by Irish heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury which raised funds for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and also a prestigious fashion show held at Manchester United’s football ground raising money for the Prince’s Trust. He is now regarded as one of the finest rat pack vocalists in the UK.
For the past two years, Wayne has been working hard to build up his acting career and has appeared on:- ‘Shameless’, ‘National Geographic’s Critical Situation Hell on High Seas’, ‘Citizen Khan’, ‘Emmerdale’, ‘Coronation Street’, ‘Hollyoaks’, ‘Happy Valley’, ‘Crimes that Shook Australia, a ‘Strongbow’ advert and most recently, ‘Peaky Blinders’. He has further acting roles planned for 2015.
Wayne has been honoured with two Awards. Firstly he was awarded by the Mayor of Trafford at the Town Hall as being one of the Forty Faces of Trafford in the 40th year anniversary of Trafford Council. He was nominated by many members of the general public and the forty winners were chosen by a panel on the Council. Wayne was also honoured to be the inaugural winner of the ‘Urmston Community Recognition Award’. He was given this award at a surprise presentation ceremony in Urmston.
Wayne now lives in Urmston, Manchester with his wife Val and his sons.
